The Mt. Hope Fire Company was one of 2 charter companies of the Rockaway Township Fire Department. It was started in 1935, along with the Hibernia Fire Company
The station houses an ambulance, a 750 gallon pumper, a 1000 gallon pumper/tanker, a brush truck and our new tower ladder truck.
Mt. Hope has 30 members and it covers the area from Route 80 to the south to Snake Hill Road to the north. They cover east to the White Meadow Lake area and west to Picatinny Arsenal. They also cover the Rockaway Townsquare Mall.
